  • WHERE IS THE SCHOOL LOCATED?

  • ON WHAT CRITERIA ARE APPLICANTS ACCEPTED?

    Candidates who have submitted all documentation for the application process by July 1 will be contacted for an interview; failure to submit all required documentation may delay or cease that process. Interviews are conducted by the admissions committee using a standardized format. The Program Director will contact candidates with conditional acceptance. The program is currently limited to a maximum annual enrollment of 16 new students. The Radiologic Technology Program does not maintain a “waiting list.” Applicants who are not accepted or do not meet the July 1 application process due date must re-apply the following year for reconsideration.

  • WHEN ARE APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED?

    *ADMISSION: Applications for the RT program will be accepted year-round but should be submitted by July 1 to be considered for Fall enrollment. The program can accept up to 16 students each calendar year, with a new class beginning near the first week of October. Applications submitted after July 1 will be considered for the next year’s admissions. Admissions interviews are granted to applicants who have submitted all the required documents.   • ADMISSIONS STEPS:

    Step 1. Submit ALL required application documents

    When: Year-round up to July 1


    Step 2. Applicant interview

    When: As scheduled by program officials


    Step 3. Notification of conditional acceptance  

    When: Usually within two weeks of interview  


    Step 4. After conditional acceptance, begin enrollment with payment of a $1,500 nonrefundable deposit

    When: Due within 30 days of conditional acceptance


    Step 5: Submit updated immunizations (for MMR, TDap, Varicella, COVID-19, and Hepatitis B)

    When: Due on or before orientation day 


    Step 6: Attend mandatory orientation  

    When: Typically second Friday in August (9-4:00*)

    *may finish early


    Step 7: Pass background and drug screenings and physical exam

    When: Due first week in September


    Step 8: Pay first tuition installment of $5,000

    When: Due by September 15


    Step 9: Purchase textbooks, provide proof of health insurance, and document screening for TB

    When: By the first day of classes


    Step 10: Submit remaining enrollment documentation

    When: Due by October 31


    *The program strongly encourages early completion of the application process in order to allow reasonable time for orientation and enrollment. 

  • HOW MUCH IS TUITION?

    Tuition for the two year program is $12,500. A $1,500 non-refundable deposit is due upon acceptance to the program which is deducted from the tuition total of $12,500. Other fees (textbooks, criminal background check, drug screen, etc.) are detailed on our Program Cost Breakdown document available for download from our website.

  • DO YOU HAVE FINANCIAL AID?

    We are partnered with Tennessee’s Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. Some students are eligible for this program and receive scholarships each year. The school is Local Workforce Investment Area certified and candidates may be eligible for financial assistance through American Job Center (Call 615-741-0804).     In addition, the Radiologic Technology, Cardiographic Technician, and Certified Nursing Assistant programs are recognized by the Department of Veterans Affairs as training programs for veteran education benefits.

    NOTE: The program currently is not a Title IV participant through the Federal Department of Education. This means students are not eligible for Federal Student Aid (government-funded student loans or deferments).

  • WHEN DOES THE PROGRAM BEGIN?

    The first day of class is near the first Monday in October. In years in which September has five Mondays, the program will start on the last Monday in September.

  • HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE ACCEPTED EACH YEAR?

    As many as 16.

  • WHAT ARE THE DAYS AND TIMES OF CLASSES AND CLINICALS?

    First year students – Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:00AM until 3:00PM. Students then attend clinicals on Thursday and Friday from either 7:00AM until 3:30PM or 8:00AM until 4:30PM.


    Second year students – Classes are held Thursday and Friday from 8:00AM until 3:00PM for most courses. Clinicals are on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7:00AM until 3:30PM or 8:00AM until 4:30PM.


    In addition, students also attend a total of 10 evening clinical hours (scheduled by the clinical instructor).


    The schedule never exceeds 40 hours a week, including classroom and clinical combined.

  • DO YOU HELP STUDENTS FIND JOBS AFTER YOU GRADUATE?

    Yes. We will assist you in your job search by teaching you resume-writing and interviewing skills. Program faculty share job leads with alumni when possible.  

  • WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SALARY FOR A RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST?

CARDIOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION (CTC) PROGRAM

  • WHEN DOES THE NEXT CLASS START?

    The school holds multiple sessions each year. Current sessions* offered are:

    Session A: January – March

    Session B: April – July

    Session C: August – October

    Classes are typically limited to 10 students, so early application is recommended.


    *Start dates may be delayed until the class is filled.

  • WHEN ARE CLASSES AND CLINICAL ROTATIONS HELD?

    Classes are held on Saturdays between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Students are also required to attend a total of six clinical hours each week on any day shift (Monday through Friday), between 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The hours can be spread over more than one day to accommodate personal work schedules. All clinical hours are conducted at the hospital in the cardiology department, emergency department, cardiac catheterization lab, and telemetry unit. 

  • WHAT ARE THE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS?

    The candidate must submit an application and a $50 application fee to begin the admission process. The candidate must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED and must pass a background and drug screen. The candidate must also be at least 18 years old. Other requirements include payment of tuition, documentation of liability insurance and personal health insurance, and immunization records. A TB skin test, seasonal flu vaccine, and COVID-19 vaccination are required. Attendance at an orientation session approximately three weeks before the start of class is also required.

  • IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?

    We are partnered with Tennessee’s Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. Some students are eligible for this program and receive scholarships each year.   • WHEN WOULD I BE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE CERTIFICATION EXAM?

    Upon completion of the program with an overall grade average of at least 85%, you will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate enables you to apply for the Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) exam administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

  • WILL I GET A JOB AS AN EKG TECHNICIAN WHEN I COMPLETE THE PROGRAM?

    Job placement is not guaranteed. The Middle Tennessee job market provides opportunities to work in hospitals as EKG and Telemetry Monitor Technicians. Some non-hospital facilities also hire Telemetry Monitor Technicians.

CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM

  • WHEN DOES THE NEXT CLASS START?

    Each new cohort is scheduled to start the program when the class is filled. Contact the school for next projected start date. 

  • WHEN ARE CLASSES AND CLINICALS HELD?

    Classes and clinical rotations are held only on Saturdays for 12 weeks. Start times vary from 6:30 AM (clinical days) to 8:00 AM (class days) and end at 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM, respectively. 

  • WHAT ARE THE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS?

    The candidate must submit an application and a $50 application fee to begin the admission process. The candidate must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED and must pass a background and drug screen. The candidate must also be at least 18 years old. Other requirements include payment of tuition, documentation of liability insurance and personal health insurance, and immunization records. A TB skin test, COVID-19 vaccination, and seasonal flu vaccine are required. Attendance at an orientation session approximately three weeks before the start of class is also required.

  • WHEN WOULD I BE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE CERTIFICATION EXAM?

    Upon completion of the program with an overall grade average of at least 85%, you will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate enables you to apply for the state certification exam administered by D&S Diversified Technologies, LLP.

  • WILL I GET A JOB AS A CNA WHEN I COMPLETE THE PROGRAM?

    Job placement is not guaranteed. Currently, however, the Middle Tennessee job market provides many opportunities for CNAs to work in long-term health care facilities, hospitals, and home health care.

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

  • WHEN DOES THE NEXT CLASS START?

    Each new cohort is scheduled to start the program when the class is filled. Contact the school for next projected start date. 

  • WHEN ARE CLASSES AND CLINICALS HELD?

    Classes are held weeks 1- 6 on Tuesday and Thursday from 6PM - 9PM. Clinical rotations are conducted during weeks 7-12 on one day each week between M-F from 8AM - 4:30PM with a 30-minute lunch break.   

  • WHAT ARE THE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS?

    The candidate must submit an application and a $50 application fee to begin the admission process. The candidate must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or GED and must pass a background and drug screen. The candidate must also be at least 18 years old. Other requirements include payment of tuition, documentation of liability insurance and personal health insurance, and immunization records. A TB skin test, COVID-19 vaccination, and seasonal flu vaccine are required. Attendance at an orientation session approximately two-three weeks before the start of class is also required. 

  • IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?

  • WHEN WOULD I BE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE CERTIFICATION EXAM?

    Upon completion of the program with an overall grade average of at least 85%, you will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate enables you to apply for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification exam administered by National Health career Association (NHA).

  • WILL I GET A JOB AS A PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN WHEN I COMPLETE THE PROGRAM?

    Job placement is not guaranteed. Currently, however, the Middle Tennessee job market provides many opportunities for phlebotomy technicians to work in various healthcare settings.  

PRECEPTORSHIP PROGRAMS (CT, MRI, Mammography, Radiography)

  • WHEN DOES THE NEXT PRECEPTORSHIP SPOT OPEN?

    Admission to either the CT, MRI, Mammography, or Radiography preceptorship program is on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants may secure a future spot after all enrollment criteria are met, tuition is paid, and a contract is signed.  

  • WHAT ARE THE SCHEDULED SHIFTS/HOURS?

    Clinical hours are typically scheduled between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM for 12 weeks. Twenty hours of clinical education is required each week. These 20 clinical hours must be attended during the day shift only during weekdays (no weekend days). The hours can be spread over more than one day to accommodate personal work schedules but must be scheduled through the Director of Health Sciences Education.  

  • WHAT ARE THE ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS?

    The candidate must submit an application and a $50 application fee to begin the admission process. The candidate must schedule a meeting with the Director of Health Sciences Education to discuss next openings and to pay tuition to reserve a spot. During the meeting, a schedule is also determined for specific rotation days and hours. The candidate must be a registered technologist (radiography for CT and Radiography or NM for MRI) and must pass a background and drug screen. Other requirements include payment of tuition, documentation of liability insurance and personal health insurance, and immunization records. A TB skin test, COVID-19 vaccination, and seasonal flu vaccine are required.  

  • IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?

    The school does not offer loans or financial aid for the preceptorship programs.
